How was Hampton?

Great! Yes, it was. Even with the rain and the coldness that kept us from surfing some waves, hampton was great this weekend. We drove 6 hours aways with a surf on top only to realise we were only going to watch the brave ones, in our coat&scarf. I shot some photos along with my Mini Diana. I love that camera. I love square frames, do you?

One of our most memorable moment will be the time the guy from the motel asked us if we came in for the show that night. What show? Bret Michaels!? Whhhuuut? And then we became quite hysterical and almost ran to get our tickets. We had a blast. The show was unexpectedly great, I admit, shamelessly.

And there was this very huge marathon in town on sunday. Made me feel so unhealthy, yeahh..

Hope you had a great weekend !

Let me introduce you

To my friends. Pretty, aren’t they?

I took those shots on a supper we had at my appartment few weeks ago, and I thought it’d be nice showing you who are the ones watching my back ! We’ve been friends since high school, so we’ve seen each other grow for a while now. I love seeing them grow, all at different speed and by different path. And I love thinking about all the things we’ve been thought together, and all the things yet to come. (Like weddings, and children.) And I feel lucky to have them around, keeping me sane from all the chaos of life !

I love you girls.

Gold digger

I’ve never been a huge fan of gold until recently, where I litterally fell in LOVE with that colour. For my brother’s wedding, I was in a rush of fiding the perfect shoe with a gold accent to match my dress, but I guess I didn’t make it on time, I ended up with some sky-high platform shoes, but all black. Now these are some of the pumps I would have loved to wear for the perfect outfit. Yeah I know, I don’t seem like such a girly girl, but I reaaaaally love heels.

Work well done

This serie of venn diagrams illustration by Gerren Lamson is so beautiful, I would hang those is my living room anytime. I love that he tea-dyed archival paper. It adds so much warmth to the monochrome illustration. And you guys should really take a look at this texan designer portfolio. I fell in love with the way he presents his works.

Work well done, sir !

Cardboard beauties

So well, maybe I am sharing too much stuff from others, and not enought of myself, but hey, there’s just so many great artists out there, and I love promoting them. And these paperworks from Happy Day Bits are just so charming. How nice is it to receive a card from someone you love! I think there are no such things, and sometimes, I believe that’s why I am more of a print graphic designer than a web designer. I just am a huge paper lover.

&It kills me to hear people talking about how technology is taking over, like all of a sudden, all the books and paperworks would disapear into a big black hole.

So, you people take time to write something nice to someone you love in a non-technologic way, okay? It’s no harder than pushing button on a keyboard & will sure bring a brighter smile to the one you’re sending it to.

Much love .

Hey. whatup boyfriend

No, this isn’t about my boyfriend! (even though I can’t get enough of taking pictures of him.) This is about my new DSLR camera lens. AND its BLUR. Seriously, look at this. It is almost ridiculous. I am a huge focus/blur fan, and this lens, is my year greatest purchase I guess. It opens up to f1.4, which is why it has so much contrast between focus and blur.

So for those of you willing to have something cool, go for it. Canon 50mm f1.4 USM.
(And yes, his smile is the cutest, I guess that’s another reason to post these photos)

xx Have fun bluring the hell out of your shots

Lookbook crush / Lulus

As weird as it seems, I never thought about sharing with you my favorite online shop. At least, the one that inspires me and reflect my personal style the most, because I still haven’t bought anything from lulus yet. Altought I’ve been visiting the shop about twice a day since. My major problem is canada shipping. But it is with half of my favorite online shops. Hey! We’re country neighbors folks! We’re not that far! Come on!

Now, I thought I’d show you their latest lookbook (Back to chic). It is mind blowing, seriously;

This polka dot sheer dress drives me crazy. I wish I had it in every color. And I just looove how they paired it with this bold jacket.

And these oooohhh-so-charmful shoes. I’m just speechless.

Have a wonderful week-end you all.
I’m off to a sleepy one (I need this badly), and I’ll be spending some of it in my new dark room. HOORAY .

Etsy finds

What is better than starting a brand new week with some awesome finds from Etsy. I really just can’t get enough of looking through that website. People are soooo arty. Take a look:

These pillows from Hello Milky are just what I’ve been looking for to complete the look of my living room. Honestly, I want them all !

Isn’t this coin purse from Blackbird And the Owl charming?

And just for the pleasure of our eyes, these heart-shaped sugar cubes from dellcovespices.

Also, I’d let to share with you how EXCITED I am becaaaaaause… I am about to be given an whole kit of photo self-developping kit to build my own dark room. I feel sooo grateful for that opportunity and I’m not about to let it go! I hope I can show you guys how I plan to turn a closet into a dark room, and some advices on it. (Crossing fingers!)

Our summer roadtrip in analogue

Hey there folks, I know this is awkwardly late to present to you some of my pictures from our summer roadtrip, but hey, I’ve been super busy and well, no excuses, my fault. Well, this is some of the shots I snapped with the camera I bought on our way back so I don’t have much, but enough to tell you I looooove that Diana camera. I also customized it afterward, so you might get a chance to see it on a next D.I.Y. post. enjoy !

We had a blast, we really did. I just can’t wait to travel with my man again.

Some cuteness

Oh my god. How cheesy is it to post a picture of a cat on your blog? Well, let’s be honest, I don’t care! Because I know you can’t resist the cuteness of this one. It’s my roomate’s and I just can’t get enough of this cute whiskered face. This weekend I bought myself a new lens (yay!) and I just couldn’t wait to try it. So the cat proposed itself as a model. (Well that’s just what it looked like?) For those of you looking for any new lens for your DSLR, I can’t tell you how much I love this one. It’s the Canon 50mm f1,4 USM. The blur is insane. Who gets tired of blur? I don’t.

The price isn’t so cheap compared to the lower version, 50mm, f1,8, but i’m pretty sure the quality is quite worth the difference. I CAN’T wait to shoot my brother’s wedding this weekend !
