Style your post / kitchen

Sooooo sorry guys, I missed out this week! I was so busy celebrating my birthday and my friend Tania’s, and getting all bruised at paintball, I couldn’t find any time to write in here. But I’m back, with a style your spot post about kitcheeeens! Yay! As a computer freak, I don’t use to spend a lot of time in the kitchen, spending most of it in front of my computer! But, don’t get me wrong, it’s one of my favorite space to decorate! And I love to invite people over in a great looking space. Here are four completely different kitchen looks. Enjoy!

Welcome home, puppie

Let me introduce you to this new loved one, baby of the family, Chico! It’s my mom’s but since it’s family, it’s sort of my new baby as well! We lost our previous dog to cancer which caused us both lot of sadness. But as I always said, nothing soothes the sadness of a lost pet like a new baby. Isn’t he cute enough for an aawww !

P.S. Today is my BDAY! Yayy!
I caaaaan’t wait to have dinner with mika’s family (breakfast for supper, an all-time favorite!) to celebrate my 22nd birthday!

Book suggestion

They say I have it easy on happiness, and I can’t even deny it. I’ve always been a person finding happiness in the most silly places, without even looking for it. But sometimes, just like everyone else, I get my share of rough times and tears. When it comes, I just need that little kick to remind of how lucky I am. When I first found «The Book of Awesome», I fell in love with the heartwarming idea of it. It’s a compilation of simple awesome things like finding money in your pocket, the cool side of the pillow, wearing underwears just out of the dryers… I offered that book to one of my best friends on Christmas, promising myself I’ll get another copy for me someday. And I sure forgot. Until I found the second book, The Book of «Even More» Awesome, at some shop I wasn’t expecting nothing from the limited book section. AWESOME! You guys should all break into the piggy bank, take 10 bucks and buy a copy of it to put on the living room’s table or right beside the bath. Smiles guaranteed !

Memories. You know the kind you keep hanging on to. There’s some precious memories you just won’t ever let go of. These are the sweet ones. Sometimes, music is what brings the memories alive. Sometimes, it’s a special smell, a certain feeling. No matter what, there’s always something to remind us of that summer vacation, that amazing snow castle or that late-night road trip.

Ear balm

Last night, I saw one of the best live performances I’ve ever seen. Even if I didn’t really appreciate the two opening bands, it was definitely worth a car ride through the worst thunderstorm. It was my second time seing Thrice, the first time was at the Bamboozle festival last year, and I have to say that it was simply amazing. The set list was mind blowing. They performed old songs like “Kill me quickly” and “Deadbolt” but also played newer ones like the one at the very end, “Anthology”. They are not big entertainers on stage, they don’t tell stories or jokes between songs, but they are extremely talented at what they do. I’ll never get enough of Dustin’s voice, it’s unique. If you didn’t get the chance to see “The Farewell Tour”, you should hurry up and buy tickets, it’s totally worth it! (http://www.thrice.net/)

In front of the lens

Lately, Mika & I have been asked to pose for a photographer for a lovely-couple-shoot. We sure accepted the offer. I never been too confortable being in the front of a lens, probably because I’ve always been behind it. But I thought it could only be fun and bring a new vision of the photographer profession. Turned out Veronique was one of the nicest woman I’ve ever met. Five minutes later, it felt like we’ve known each other for years. It was this surreal connexion of ideas and this same photographic vision. Lifestyle shoot has always seduced me more than white background and phony faces. So i’m pretty happy with the results.

Thank you so much Veronique for your amazing work.

Drop by her website to see more of her work,
and if you get a chance, book a lifestyle shooting with her, she’s amazing, I swear !

Happy moments

So I was wandering down the cereal aisle at the market, trying to fill my fridge with more than nothing-at-all, and felt I had abandon cereal over toast for a while. So, as usual, I automatically spotted the cutest package on the shelves. I felt a certain pride when I saw the anchor shaped cereal among the cute pastel marshmallow. YEAH, my artistic instinct always leads to treasures. Breakfast has always been my holy meal, and it’s not about to change. Ps. They also taste like heaven and are made out of completely natural flavours. Enjoy breakfast !

Oh snap!

What about a lazy lazy day at the beach? This weekend I had the chance to finally let go of everything just to spend some time under the sun with my girls (and Holga!). We don’t often get the chance to be the six of us all together, but we finally made it. Yay. I can’t tell you how much I enjoy laying on the sand and getting all sunburned. Here are some of the shots I took on this beach&friends day. I hope you had a great weekend too, pals!
